The Abaquar Hostel (“flying man” in Tupi-Guarani language) is located in a 3262 square meter area surrounded by a lot of green, with an extensive garden full of palm and fruit trees producing and presenting us with the fruits of each season. The garden is crossed by a small river (arm of the sea) which contains the typical rich flora and fauna of Boipeba mangroves.

The hostel is located very close to the main square and the beautiful beach (Bocca da Barra) (3 minutes walk – on the island we do not use cars), but in a quiet area with lots of privacy where you can wake up every morning listening to the birds singing.

The hostel is managed independently (an association card for staying is not required) and comes up with an innovative concept. Here, enjoying life with comfort is a priority, not only by valuing the knowledge of the local culture, but also by preserving the environment and sustainable tourism. We always ask you to only bring back home pictures of the island, as well as a huge desire to come back and see again the dear friends who you left here!

Peter and Fernanda, the owners, a young Belgian - Brazilian couple are passionate about the values of nature and cultural diversities which they discovered after traveling around the world. They got to know different cultures and finally met each other in Thailand, where they joined their ideals and dreams. They chose the island of Boipeba as their paradise, not only to live in their own place but also to build a wonderful hostel, which is truly unique and located in the middle of nature!
